This Puzzle & Fun Fact Activity is part of:
2017 Google Interactive Membership {GROWING BUNDLE} - Current & Future Products

This ❤ Google Interactive Activity ❤ is an engaging practice of working with "Like Radicals" . This is a BLENDED Activity as a HARD COPY of the activity is included in this product. This products has 2 LEVELS with 36 questions assessing the ability to identifying Like Radicals. This activity is great for DIFFERENTIATION.

In this activity students are given a radical expression (no variables). The student would need to find a matching like radicals from the given bank. No radical is to be used twice.

This activity is self-checking. At the end of the activity, students would have found 12 groups of letters (for each level). Students would need to place these letters side by side and then "add spaces" as needed to produce a "FUN FACT". The "FUN FACT" will only happen if student picks the right puzzle piece.

My students appreciated this type of activity as it allowed them to be independent and find their "own mistakes" before seeking any help.

In Level 1, the questions of the puzzle match activity consists of 12 radical questions that students have to simplify & Match with a Like Radical. In this activity:
☑ Students should be able to simplify radicals
☑ Understand the concept "Like Radicals" in order to match correctly
☑ Radicals are "Square Roots" (no nth Roots & no Variables)
☑ This is an easy level as students have to only identify a MATCH.

In Level 2, students would have to simplify the questions on the board as well as the questions on the puzzle pieces (24 questions). Then:
☑ Questions may have coefficients (positive or negative)
☑ Radicals are "Square Roots" (no nth Roots & no Variables)
☑ This level is more advanced than the first one

In this activity students will be using Google Slides. Some students used their computers, some used their phones, while others used their IPADs. As long as there is a Google Drive there is a way.

The answer key is included in the file. I usually share it when all assignments are turned in "Electronically"

I use Algebra II Common Core Pearson Textbook. This activity works very well with Section 6.3: Binomial Radical Expressions
