This game was created to help students better understand place value. It is centered around standard, expanded, and word form. It also uses base-10 blocks. Students will take four puzzle pieces to try and make a completed puzzle centered around a number. Once they have found a match for all the puzzle pieces they will record their answers on a recording sheet that is included.
The Included pages are:
Student Direction Page
Teacher Direction Page
Puzzle Pieces (18 numbers are included for a total of 72 puzzle pieces)
This game should be used not as introduction lesson, but to strengthen student's understanding of place value and the different forms of a number. It can be used during stations, centers, or at small group. It could also be used as formative assessment to see how well students are understanding place value.
Students will love this game because they are getting to put together a non-overwhelming puzzle while strengthening their skills!
