In this unit, students will learn about finding unknown sides and angles in right angled triangles by using Pythagoras’ Theorem and trigonometry. They will start by learning Pythagoras’ Theorem (including a proof) and then use this to find an unknown hypotenuse, unknown shorter sides and apply the method to solve worded problems. Students will then learn the trigonometric ratios of sin, cos and tan and use these to find unknown sides and angles, and again apply this to solving problems.
