    Pythagorean Theorem - Distance Between Two Points

    Need to practice finding the distance between two coordinates using the Pythagorean Theorem?! Students will have two coordinates in which they will need to graph and then work through using the Pythagorean Theorem to find the distance between those two points.     Halloween Pythagorean Theorem - Finding Hypotenuse & Side Length Color By Number Activity

    Students are ready to practice finding hypotenuse and side lengths! This fun Halloween color by number activity will include finding hypotenuse and side lengths. They will use the knowledge they have learned from understanding which side is hypotenuse and which sides are side lengths to determine how to utilize the Pythagorean Theorem. Everyone likes to take a break and color too, right?!

    Pythagorean Theorem Around the Clock Partner Scavenger Hunt Activity

    Looking for a collaborative, self checking activity?! Check out this Pythagorean Theorem - Finding Hypotenuse and Side Lengths Around the Clock Partner Scavenger Hunt Activity!

    Students will work in pairs to solve order of operation problems that include exponents. Each partner will have their own clock with 12 unique problems. Each partner's problems will be different from the others, but the answers and placement on the clock will be identical. If one partner is struggling through a problem, the other can help them through it and vice versa until they agree on the same answer. If the partners are differing on an answer they can look at each others work to help find the error and find the correct answer to continue through the scavenger hunt.

    Students will have a starting problem indicated by a (*). That problem will be glued to the 12 o'lock spot. Students will solve the problem and find the answer on another problem at the top of that cut out. They will take that next problem and glue it to the 1 o'clock spot. Continue to process through every hour until they reach 11 o'clock. The 11 o'clock answer should be on the 12 o'clock spot. If students complete all 12 problems correctly, they will move around the clock correctly back to the 12 o'clock spot.

    The activity is self-checking, providing students with instant feedback. There are multiple version descriptions included in this activity to help you utilize this activity that fits best for you and your students! These are colorful and fun, a great way to display student work!

    Pythagorean Theorem Hole Punch Game

    Everyone loves to play a game, right? This is a perfect, easy set up game - all you need is a hole punch! Have students work alone (preferably), pairs or more and complete the 10 problems. When they complete the problems, they have two chances to get the answer correct. Depending on how many chances the student took will determine how many hole punches they get. Details of how the game is played are included in the download. This game uses non-decimal and decimal numbers for legs and hypotenuse. There is enough space in the squares that students have to use as a work area, but if not a blank work space page is provided. There is a great variety of problems.
