This is a worksheet (or quiz) over the basics of the Pythagorean Theorem. The students are asked to write the formula, label a right triangle with the appropriate variables (a,b, and c), and must know that the hypotenuse represents the longest side of a right triangle. Students must use the converse of the Pythagorean Theorem to determine if 3 sets of sides form a right triangle and then must use the Pythagorean Theorem to find a missing side of a right triangle. There is also an application problem located at the bottom. I use this as a quiz before beginning application problems with my students so it is labeled as a bonus question.
