This set of 56 Pythagorean Theorem task cards includes problems where students find the missing side of a right triangle, using the Pythagorean Theorem formula. The task cards are designed for teaching the Pythagorean Theorem in 8th grade math.
There are four different levels of difficulty, which are marked by the number of stars on the task card. The easiest task cards could be used in early middle school grades. The most difficult task cards could be used in 8th-9th grade math classrooms.
The task cards include a wide range of difficulty, making it easy to differentiate. The task cards are organized into the following groups.
One-Star Problems (Easy): 14 task cards in which students use the Pythagorean Theorem to determine if a triangle is a right triangle.
Two-Star Problems (Medium): 14 task cards in which students use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing hypotenuse of a right triangle.
Three-Star Problems (Hard): 14 task cards in which students use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing leg of a right triangle.
Four-Star Problems (Expert): 14 task cards in which students use the Pythagorean Theorem, area, and perimeter concepts to solve real world and challenge problems.
