I designed this activity to use as a hands-on activity involving Pythagorean Theorem. Learning this formula can be a somewhat "dry" topic, but this activity makes it more interactive. Students measure ten different triangles using a ruler, record the information in a chart, use Pythagorean Theorem to calculate the hypotenuse and then measure to check for accuracy. Not only is it interactive, but also students can self-check their calculations as they go! Could be great to use a middle school math center/station.
