This is an awesome and easy to follow lesson plan in the delivery of instruction for the Pythagorean Theorem. It uses movement, tactile stimulation, visual models, interaction among the students, class discussion, and other engaging strategies. If your students like going outside to learn, then this is the plan for them!
The students learn the Pythagorean Theorem on a basketball court. Although the lesson is designed for a one hour class period, it could easily be extended to two one hour class periods, including review of homework and enrichment activities.
This is probably my favorite lesson plan :-)
