The Python Turtle module is an excellent introduction to programming with a concentration on graphics. This package covers program planning, debugging, multiple functions, syntax errors, co-ordinate math, for loops to manipulate Turtle graphics as well as loop tracing. Prior knowledge of the basic graphics commands within the Turtle module is required (as taught in Turtle 1 A Graphics Basic Commands package). Everything is included: student handouts, answer keys, and assessments. Turtle 1 D Graphics and For Loops Culminating Activity resource package is the next step in this series.
Concepts & skills have been broken down into short chunks. Students are given short code fragments to explore, followed by questions to consolidate their learning. Two assessments have been provided at appropriate intervals. They are also asked to reflect on their learning and provided terminology to begin a programming dictionary.
