Requires: Microsoft Word 2016 on Windows
This Word add-in tool allows you to use your questions and answers to create a variety of resources: collated, numbered , no-trim decks of cards, Jeopardy games, Bingo games, cubes, or Riddler worksheets.
You provide the questions and answers (if applicable) in the form if a 2 column table in a Word document where the question is in column 1 and the answer is in column 2. The tool uses the table to generate the resource.
TO INSTALL THE QARemix TOOL:
Download QARemix .ZIP
Find the downloaded file in File Explorer, and right click on it.
You will be asked to “Select a Destination and Extract Files”. For the folder name enter:
(If you get a message saying the directory does not exist, choose the Browse… button, and enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Word for the folder. Then pick “New Folder” and name it Startup and then choose the Select Folder button.)
Choose the Extract button
The next time you open Word, the QARemix tool will be loaded in the background.
TO USE THE QARemix TOOL:
Create a 2 column table in a Word document with questions in column 1 and answers in column 2. Then run one of the commands below by typing the keystroke sequence listed next to the command's name. New documents will be created to hold the resources you request. Your original will be unchanged.
MakeBingo (Alt m, b) – makes bingo cards from the answers, and a Powerpoint slideshow of the questions
MakeCube (Alt m, c) – creates a cube/ paper dice (only column 1 “Questions” required)
MakeDecks (Alt m, d) – creates collated, numbered decks of cards (only column 1 required)
MakeJeopardy (Alt m, j) – makes a Powerpoint game of Jeopardy (note: this requires an extra column in the table for your category names)
MakeRiddlerWorksheet (Alt m, r) – creates a Riddler worksheet
Note, the first time you use Word after installing the files, you may get a message saying “Security Warning: Macros have been disabled.” You MUST click the “Enable Content” button next to the message for the tool to work.
