This is a fun way for your students to practice converting customary units of capacity. Students choose any card to start on. Using an electronic device such as an I-Pad, they use a QR scanner to scan the code on the card. This will make a problem pop up on their screen. They solve the problem, then they record the answer on their sheet. They will need to search the room for another card that has that answer on it. Once they find it they will then find their next question on that card. It is so much better than a traditional worksheet. The students will have so much fun with the movement and technology that they won't even realize they are doing work! They are actually excited to do the activity. The 16 cards correlate with 4.MD.1 from the fourth grade common core math objectives. All of the problems involve converting between gallons, quarts, pints, cups, and ounces.
