Product Description
If your students love using QR codes, they will enjoy reading and learning about owls as they identify parts of speech and types of sentences! Even if you can't use the QR codes, you can use this as a "scoot" or center because there are two similar recording sheets - one that is for decoding the QR after an answer and one that is for just recording the answer!

Use this engaging activity as a center, in small groups, with your whole class as a “scoot”, etc. I've used this with my students and they LOVED learning about owls and using their devices to check their work!

This product includes identifying:
-nouns
-verbs
-adjectives
-adverbs
-simple sentences
-complex sentences
-compound sentences
-declarative sentences*
-exclamatory sentences*
-interrogative sentences*
-imperative sentences*

*To make this a bit more challenging, I intentionally left OFF the end punctuation so that your students will have to read and think about the sentence before they identify (vs. just looking at the end for a punctuation mark).

There are two similar but different recording sheets for you to use, depending on whether or not you wish for your students to use devices for the QR codes. You can always just use this product without the codes!

Please leave feedback on this product and when you do, include the way you used this within your classroom so that others may benefit from your ideas!

I recommend you print these cards on white card stock for durability. Laminating is a good idea but keep in mind that sometimes the glare can impair the QR code from working properly. You might want to test it with one card first - it truly depends on how thick the laminating film is!

I have other language arts activities in my store. Check them out:

Correcting and Editting Fragments, Run Ons, and Capitalization in Sentences
