QR codes make task cards more engaging! Simply cut out and laminate the cards and place in a center with a device that can read QR codes (iPod Touch, iPad, tablet, or laptop/desktop with a camera). Students get immediate feedback when they scan the QR codes.
This set includes 32 self-checking task cards that deal with mixed numbers and improper fractions. The first 8 task cards have picture models on them to help students visualize mixed numbers and improper fractions (they must write a mixed number and improper fractions for each picture). Students must convert mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers for cards 9-24 without picture models. The last 8 cards require students to add and subtract mixed numbers with LIKE denominators and write their answers in simplest form. These task cards are aligned to the Common Core State Standard 4.NF.3c.
A student recording sheet, answer key, and one-page (6 question) quick assessment are included. Download the preview to see the task cards up close. Please make sure that you have a device that can scan QR codes before purchasing.
These task cards are also available in a Non-QR Code Version
