Many schools now have a B.Y.O.D. day, meaning a "Bring Your Own Device" day. These QR Codes make an easy and fun way to implement this technology in the classroom.
These can be read by iPods, iPhones, iPad, or android tablets. Simply download a free QR Code reader.
The books featured here show the WORDS
in the text, so the students can read along, and not just listen.
They are also "ad-free", meaning NO advertisement videos will show up at the end of the read aloud, when your students use these codes.
One extra feature...
I have also created a teacher resource sheet
with all of the QR codes together along with a hyperlink
that you can access directly from your computer by clicking on it. This way, you can show these stories on a smartboard to the whole class, if you chose. I hope you like this additional feature!
The 10 books featured here can be seen in the preview file.
I've included Accelerated Reader (AR) levels, Guided Reading levels
and Lexile levels
for all books that are available. After a student reads one of these books, they will know if their book is in their AR range for testing. The guided reading levels will help you differentiate, so that you can assign texts at their level. However, with the added support of being read to, you may not find the need to limit their selections. The levels do provide some guidance if a student wants to check out the physical book from your school library and read it independently later.
What do I do if a QR code does not work?
A QR code can occasionally lose it's link. If this ever happens, use the QUESTIONS tab
to let me know (not the ratings please), and I will fix it right away.
