There are 20 QR Codes for your Listening Center as part of Literacy activities. These are independent listening activities, so students can listen to popular books being read, and then respond with a follow-up task.
I have chosen these books because they are suitable to read at the beginning of the year, when we are trying to set expectations, goals and enthusiasm.
So whilst you are teaching one group of students, another group can be happily engaged with these worthwhile tasks.
All you need to do is print, laminate and explain the scanning process.
These are SafeYouTube links, so there is no danger of pop-ups and advertisements.
Students scan the QR code, using a mobile device or computer, the code takes them to a story on YouTube for them to listen and enjoy the book.
In no way, do I think these codes replace physical books, but these are a great way for students to independently re-visit the story and listen again.
These codes and responses are for the books:
The Berenstain ears Go to School
First Day Jitters
If You Take a Mouse o School
Amelia Bedelia’s First Day of School
Miss Nelson is Missing
The Teacher from the Black Lagoon
The Class from the Black Lagoon
The Kissing Hand
The Name Jar
How Full is Your Bucket
Daddy’s back to School Shopping Adventure
The Most Magnificent Thing
The Recess Queen
What if Everybody Did That?
But It’s Not My Fault!
My Teacher is a Monster: No I am Not!
Just Disgusting: Brussel Sprouts
Just Tricking: Playing Dead
There's a response sheet, specifically for each book, and a general response sheet, that will suit all books. I use these as "after listening" tasks.
