Scaffolded transitional phrases and sentence starters will guide students as they construct a 5 sentence summary paragraph with a topic sentence and sentences about what happens first, second, next, and last in any text. Since students’ dice rolls will vary each time, this packet can be reused all year to help students respond to their reading.
This purchases includes everything your students need to construct a 5 sentence summary paragraph:
★ 2 clear student direction page and materials list
★ 5 QR Roll, Scan, & Write Sheets - one for each sentence of the paragraph
★ 30 QR transitional phrases, sentence starters, and prompts embedded into the sheets to guide students’ writing
★ Rubric to assess student work
★ 1 Master list of all prompts for use without QR codes!
Print out the pages that you need and distribute to your students or leave in an iPad® mobile digital device center. Prompts are general enough to work with most books students have read Teachers can set more specific parameters of the assignment if desired.
