How I Use this Resource:

  1. Introducing QU - I introduce the dynamic duo "QU" using the sound and poem posters, blackline student posters, and flapbook. When using the flapbook, my students generate words with the /kw/ sound and we write them together under the flaps. As students generate words, we make observations about the words and begin to notice patterns in how the letters "qu" are used.
  2. Prescriptive Practice - I assign individual students specific interactive notebook activities to complete based on areas of need I've observed during our lessons.
  3. Literacy Center - After I've introduced the letters "QU" I put out additional interactive notebook activities as a choice during literacy centers.
