The focus of this lesson is ASKING QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND TEXT. Students will be introduced to questioning, the importance of asking good questions, and go through a fun practice with a comic that will get them to understand how questioning leads to better understanding. They are engaged because they play a reveal game with a comic where they ask questions after each reveal to help them understand the comic. Students are asked to independently create their own working definition of QUESTIONING in a fun and interactive way.
I have spent at least 9 hours creating this one PowerPoint. WHY? I have a FLIPPED CLASSROOM and understand that students must be engaged in what they see in order to want to learn. My students can't get enough of these highly engaging PowerPoint because they are all ANIMATED with VIDEO CLIPS, and done in a game style format. This can easily be used in any classroom for a fun lesson to teach this content. I also use this as a reference tool for students to continuously refer back to if they need a refresher. This helps differentiate the needs of my diverse learners.
INCLUDED INSIDE THE POWERPOINT:
*Make printables from the PowerPoint slides to help reinforce student learning.
*I can statements to help students focus their learning.
*Challenging journal questions at the end to prove student understanding.
*Student Practice: Students are given practice opportunities to help them reinforce their learning.
This is an ADVANCED POWERPOINT and works for computers that have PowerPoint Version 2010 or 2012.
Due to the large file size I could not get the videos and animations to work on the preview. They will all work on the purchased versions though.
