This project asks students to create a visual poster of who they are by exploring daily various aspects. Project gets completed over a two week period. Each day students answer guiding questions for 10 minutes in a journal or on note cards, then assemble their reflections into a poster that incorporates visuals that enhance illustration of their identity. Final assessment has students presenting their identities to classmates in small groups or on a gallery walk. Download contains project parameters with daily guiding questions for student reflection, detailed suggestions for students to help them compose their posters, rubric for grading and a note taking sheet for students to complete while they listen to classmates present. Project is best suited for level IV, AP V or Heritage Language learners preparing for the AP Language test and links to the theme of Identity. Project is entirely in Spanish. Students focus on what they value, their sense of self, family, community, goals they aspire to, and how they learn best. Teachers should budget 10 minutes daily at beginning or end of class for journaling the questions for one week and then 2-3 class periods to complete the visuals, with an additional day to present. This project is well received by students and is a great starter for the beginning of the year to help kids get to know each other.
