This Discriminant & Roots of Quadratic Equations Trifold Sorting Activity helps your students practice finding the discriminant of quadratic equations and classifying them into three groups: one real root, two real roots, or no real roots. Students analyze graphs, determine a, b, and c, from a quadratic equation, or interpret a verbal description to sort the cards. No distinction is made between rational and irrational roots.
This activity is appropriate for Algebra, PreCalculus, and College Algebra
Included in the Activity:
• A trifold with built - in pockets to sort cards
• Notes and a completed example for students to follow
• 24 problems (cards) with equations, graphs and verbal descriptions
• Answer key and easy directions for 2 sided printing.
Students can attach this trifold into an Interactive Notebook, or a traditional notebook.
