Quadratic Functions Activity: Sort is an activity that helps students categorize math concepts! It is great for students to do after they have learned multiple concepts that could easily be mixed up. What’s great is that students get a chance to collaborate and then receive immediate feedback on their understanding!
Quadratic Functions: Finding the vertex in vertex form, intercept form, and standard form.
How this activity can be used in class:
The Sorting Activity can be used in many ways, and below is a description of how I use it in class! Students can have their own set of cards or two students can share one set. If students share, I ask them to take turns holding the card they will sort. Students will sort each card on the sorting mat. After students are finished, I post the answer key on the board and ask students which cards they had questions about.
Depending on the type of sort, students could complete each question afterward on separate paper and check their answers!
