This Quadratic Functions: MATH BOARD GAME is a fun way to review quadratics at the end of a unit! The game includes: the board game printable, 45 unique cards for students to work through, game pieces, and answer key. 1 die is needed for each board game and is not included.

Students can play individually or in teams (I like teams of 2 with 4 students per board game).

Skills Used:

-Use the discriminant to determine the number of solutions

-Solve factorable and unfactorable quadratic equations of real solutions

-Identify key characteristics from a graph or a table including: domain, range, vertex, axis of symmetry, solutions, y-intercept, interval of increase/decrease

-Solve word problems based on rectangular area, Pythagorean theorem, projectile motion, and optimization

-Use transformations of the quadratic function

CCSS.MATH.HSA.CED.A.1 Create equations and inequalities in one variable and use them to solve problems.

CCSS.MATH.HSA.REI.B.4 Solve quadratic equations in one variable.

CCSS.MATH.HSA.REI.B.4.B Solve quadratic equations by inspection, taking square roots, completing the square, the quadratic formula and factoring, as appropriate to the initial form of the equation (limit to real number solutions).

CCSS.MATH.HSF.BF.B.3 Identify the effect on the graph of replacing f(x) by f(x)+k, kf(x), f(kx), and f(x+k) for specific vales of k (both positive and negative).

CCSS.MATH.HSF.IF.B.4 For a function that models a relationship between two quantities, interpret key features of graphs and tables in terms of the quantities, and sketch graphs showing key features given a verbal description of the relationship. Key features include: intercepts; intervals where the function is increasing, decreasing, positive, or negative; relative maximums and minimums; symmetries.
