This is a one-sided document intended to provide students with practice on transforming the quadratic parent function. The student is given six quadratic functions and asked to sketch their graph by plotting at least 3 points. One of the equations is the quadratic parent function. Then they are asked to identify the domain and range of each graph.
Next, the student is asked to refer back to 5 of the graphs (not the parent function graph) and compare those graphs to the parent function. They are asked to describe the transformations that have occurred as compared to the parent function. Transformations covered include shifting the parent function up or down, flipping it over the x-axis and making it narrower or wider. 12 questions total. Key included.
