Once you download this file and use it in your Algebra class, I am certain you will never want to teach another way!
My students have loved every second of the blended learning format of my class. I have created google slides for each lesson's notes and practice. I allow students to work at their own pace, stopping occasionally to have their answers checked. This has allowed me more flexibility to work one-on-one with struggling students or in small groups. This format also allows for students to complete the lessons at home if they are absent or need more time. You could also choose to use these resources for a flipped classroom lesson.
This blended learning lesson includes notes and practice on Quadratics, including properties, solving for zeros using factoring, square roots, quadratic formula and the graphing calculator.
The format of this lesson is a google slide presentation. Teachers upload the slides on to their google classroom and each student uploads their own copy. They have these notes and practice to work on at home and in class.
I have included directions on how to create a google classroom and how to assign the notes.
If you do not have any interest in creating a google classroom, powerpoints are included of each lesson. Teacher can upload the powerpoints online, each student wlll download their copy and work through the practice just the same. However, you will decide how or if the students need to turn these in.
4 lessons - each lasting about 1.5 hours.
-Lesson 1 - Properties of Quadratics
-Lesson 2- Solving by factoring and square roots
-Lesson 3- Solve by quadratic formula and graphing calculator
-Lesson 4 - Quadratic Regression and Line of best fit
Each lesson includes a google slide link, ppt and pdf file, and answer key.
**Note- This lesson requires that students have access to a computer. It is most effective in a 1:1 technology school.
