Discriminants & Roots of Quadratic Equations Trifold Sorting Activity
This all-in-one sorting, foldable activity helps your students practice finding discriminants of quadratic equations and classify them into three groups: one real root, two real roots, or no real roots. Students analyze graphs, determine a, b, and c, from a quadratic function, or interpret a verbal description to sort the cards. No distinction is made between rational and irrational roots.
This activity is appropriate for Algebra, PreCalculus, and College Algebra
Included in the Activity:
• A trifold with built - in pockets to sort cards
• Notes and a completed example for students to follow
• 24 problems (cards) with equations, graphs and verbal descriptions
• Answer key and easy directions for printing.
Students can attach this trifold into an Interactive Notebook, or a traditional notebook.
Note: This resource requires two-sided printing.
