Are your students struggling to differentiate between different types of quadrilaterals?! This complicated standard can be addressed with this resource!
This pack includes the following:
** 3 DETAILED PAGES OF VOCABULARY CARDS
The 1st covers points, lines, rays, etc. The 2nd covers more about parallel and intersecting lines, angles, etc. The 3rd solely covers quadrilaterals. These cards can be used individually or with partners! Sort them multiple times, race against the clock, or do a speed sort by competing against a partner! Additionally, by simply cutting, sorting, and gluing, you have a perfect way to formatively or summatively assess student learning!
** CHARACTERISTICS OF QUADRILATERALS HUNT
This activity reinforces what a polygon needs to be considered a specific type of quadrilateral! This activity can be utilized in multiple ways and is explained in detail within the product. An example is included.
** QUADRILATERAL vs. NON-QUADRILATERAL SORT
This is a great, hands-on, beginning activity. Help students solidify their understanding of what it means to be a quadrilateral with this cut-and-paste activity.
** WHAT ARE MY NAMES? WORKSHEETS
These worksheets feature many different kinds of quadrilaterals and some polygons. Students must think through the features of each and "check" off everything each polygon could be called. There are typically multiple names for each. I always use the analogy of how I even have multiple names! (Human, Girl, Mrs. Rolfs) Some names are just more specific than others-just like with quadrilaterals!
** QUADRILATERAL POSTERS
6 pretty quadrilateral posters are included! These are great to display and use during teaching!
** QUADRILATERAL POSTER STUDENT REFERENCE
This reference sheet is perfect to include in your students' math binders, folders, or whatever you use! Whenever they need to remind themselves of the quadrilateral differences, it's all right there in a user friendly format!
I can't wait to see how this works for you! I know it has helped me a lot!
