This is a brief PowerPoint presentation to help teach young learners (optimal for 1st-3rd graders) understand the four main types of quadrilaterals they will need to know to align with state standards and common core standards. The four quadrilaterals discussed in this presentation are: square, rectangle, parallelogram, and trapezoid.
This is not meant to be a lecture, but rather an interactive activity where students draw each shape several times on their iPads (Show Me! app, Educreations, etc) or on white boards after it has been taught.
The chart on the last page is for a class-made chart. Each student will be given a sticky note with a shape drawn on it and will come up to the board and place each sticky note in the correct column.
Can be made harder for older learners, or easier for younger learners.
