This unit introduces and reviews quadrilaterals, including their names, figure, and attributes. Items include guided notes, graphic organizer, figure sort, and compare and contrast activities. The notes also examine interior angles and review the interior angles of both quadrilaterals and triangles. A key skill is emphasized with the Venn diagram allowing students to compare and contrast quadrilaterals. A word bank is provided if needed. Sort labels aid students to allocate figures cut out of cardstock or poster board and then place the attribute cards appropriately. This provides a visual reinforcement and allows for cooperative learning and differentiated instruction. The guided notes and graphic organizer introduce or provide review. This is used in upper elementary and middle school classrooms in the general and special education settings. For other ideas, resources, and inspiration visit my blog at www.makingeducation.com.
