Product Description

These digital geometry activities will help your students understand and practice types of quadrilaterals (squares, rectangles, parallelograms, rhombus', and trapezoids). These resources are 100% online and can be used on Google Classroom and Google Drive. This resource also includes an answer key.

This product includes:

♥ Drag-&-drop: defining a quadrilateral and a polygon

♥ Drag-&-drop: quadrilateral or not? image sort

♥ Drag-&-drop: need to know vocabulary sort (parallel lines, right angle, angles)

♥ Drag-&-drop: match the quadrilateral to the name and description of it
♥ Drag-&-drop: drag the name of the quadrilateral to the top of the figure
♥ Short answer: profiling the square (number of sides, angles, parallel sides, are sides the same length?)

♥ Short answer: profiling the rectangle (number of sides, angles, parallel sides, are sides the same length?)

♥ Short answer: profiling the rhombus (number of sides, angles, parallel sides, are sides the same length?)

♥ Short answer: profiling the parallelogram (number of sides, angles, parallel sides, are sides the same length?)

♥ Short answer: profiling the trapezoid (number of sides, angles, parallel sides, are sides the same length?)

♥ Drag-&-drop: finish the quadrilateral tree

♥ Create-your-own: use the toolbar to draw quadrilaterals

♥ Short answer: 2 pages of spot the quadrilaterals on a geoboard
♥ Short answer: 4 pages of spot the quadrilaterals on pattern blocks and list how many of each quadrilateral that you spot

This product covers:

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.G.A1

Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.

Virginia VA SOL 3.12

The student will a) define polygon; b) identify and name polygons with 10 or fewer sides; and c) combine and subdivide polygons with three or four sides and name the resulting polygon(s).

If you are in a 1:1 technology classroom, this product is perfect for you! It will also work well if you only have a few computers in your classroom. As long as your students have a Google Drive account and access to a computer, they can use these products during literacy centers and rotate off computers.

How do I use this product?

You will be given the link to the Google Drive product. You can either email it to your students, or post on your Google Classroom! Check out my blog post to see how to upload it if you're unsure.
