Product Description
Use this activity to help kids feel confident and more positive about big assessments and high-stakes testing. It includes a student worksheet to discuss testing and how to do your best. Students will brainstorm positive qualities that are not measured on assessments and then create and design their own posters to hang around the room for support and encouragement! An optional poster is also included for students to write down their own individual strengths and positive qualities.

Why Teach Positive Qualities
Kids and young adults often feel a great deal amount of stress related to high-stakes testing. In particular, students in special education might experience a high amount of worry and anxiety related to the testing environment. By discussing and teaching positive qualities that aren't measured on a test, this activity can empower and encourage kids and young adults to do their best on the test without stressing out over it. Of course, we want kids to do their best, but we also want kids to realize their own potential isn't measured just in one place. This activity can serve as a coping mechanism to help kids deal with the stress of upcoming tests and assessments.
