Quantitative Holidays is an interactive game that targets the concepts least, most, less, more, equal and a different irregular past tense verb every month. Each month contains 8 thematic cards and 8 direction cards. A different irregular past tense verb is targeted in the student’s suggested response.
Thematic pictures: candy, turkeys, reindeer, snowmen, valentines, Leprechauns, eggs, flowers, ribbons and insects.
Irregular past tense verbs: ate, heard, fed, built, gave, saw, found, grew, won and caught.
1.) Place all the thematic cards face down on the table.
2.) Each student playing selecting a card.
3.) The students respond by using the student response for the month. I bought X pencils, I ate X pieces of candy. I heard X turkeys. I fed X reindeer. I built X snowmen. I gave X valentines. I saw X Leprechauns. I found X eggs. I grew X flowers. I won X ribbons. I caught X insects.
4.) The teacher then reads a direction card.
5.) If directed to keep their card the students put them in a pile on the table.
6.) The students not keeping their cards put them back on the table.
7.) At the end of the game each player counts their cards.
8.) The player with the most cards wins.
