*Sheet Music “The Pumpkin Patch” (class copy or one for each student)
*Rhythm Task Cards
Lesson Activity (30 min):
*Listen and pat, clap, or tap each pumpkin from a blank task card template with the steady beat as you sing or play “The Pumpkin Patch”.
*Read about the quarter notes, eighth notes and quarter rests from the task cards.
*Identify the quarter notes, eighth notes and quarter rests in the song.
*Read the rhythm of the song by saying fall for the quarter notes, pumpkin for the eighth notes, and shh for the quarter rests.
*Play the rhythm of the song using unpitched rhythm instruments.
*Sing the song and play along!
