What educators are saying

Love this resource! I used this game as one of my music centers and it was a huge hit. My students loved showing off their rhythm reading skills while playing with their peers.
My students love playing games so finding something that still tracks assessment while providing "fun" is a huge hit with my early elementary kids - thanks so much for this great game!

Description

Looking for fun ways to get your students reading rhythms? Games are always a huge win in my classroom-- especially when we are in music workstations! These Go Fish card games are easy to play (most students already know how to play!), fun, and allow you to assess students' reading skills. It's a win-win!

To play: Students start with seven cards. On their turn, students pick one student and asks if they have card that the student has. If they do, they give it to the first student, and the student goes again. If they don't, they say "Go Fish" and the student draws a card. The game is over when one person runs out of cards-- but the person with the most matches wins!

Go Fish is available in both black and white and color. The file includes printable kid friendly directions (because you know once you rotate centers, everyone forgets all of the instructions!). Each rhythm occurs four times in the deck, so there are two sets of matches.

This set includes quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests.

All rhythms are available in regular notation and stick notation, to accommodate all music classrooms!

Decks are color coded, so it is easy to distinguish between the different sets of rhythms!

Includes:

  • Printable kid friendly directions in color
