Before we can begin teaching our students how to count coins, they need to be able to name the coins and identify their values! This can be such a difficult skill to teach, but these Smart Notebook games will make it easier!
This interactive e-book for the smartboard has informational text detailing who is on the front of the dime and what is on the back of it. It then has two games in it - one works with children on identifying what a quarter looks like, while the other works with them on identifying the value of a quarter.
I use this in my Kindergarten classroom to introduce children to coin recognition, though it would be helpful for first graders if the skill wasn't taught to the students in Kindergarten!
