"Que Llueva" is a fun Mexican game song, and this original Orff arrangement is not only engaging but also meets multiple music objectives. Your students will learn a traditional song from another culture, and they will demonstrate the tonic bordun, read rhythms, explore ostinati patterns, and perform a multiple part ensemble (4 parts). Integrated into this lesson are multiple teaching points including note/rest values (half, quarter, eighth notes and rests), music vocabulary (accompaniment, glissando), and instrument technique. I have also included the instructions for the game and sheet music for the Orff arrangement.. My students have enjoyed learning this song, and their in class performance of the Orff arrangement was excellent. I am sure this lesson will be a success with your students!
