This powerpoint was created to review verbs and the sentence starter "I prefer." Some of the verbs used are: to ski, to draw, to play soccer, to skate, to go fishing, to have a picnic, to eat, to drink, to swim, to sleep, to go to school, etc. The first slide gives instructions for the teacher/class to follow. If you would like to use the slideshow in another way, just skip the first slide. The instructions on the first slide are as follows:
The first 40 slides may be used to take written notes, for pronunciation and for review.
The second 20 slides are used to ask what a person perfers doing. For example, Do you prefer to go fishing or to have a picnic?, Do you prefer to draw or to paint?, Do you prefer cats or dogs?, etc.
The third set of 40 slides makes the statement, I prefer__________. For this set the I prefer is stamped and the animated clip art is stamped. The words for the activity appear on the advance of the slides.
The last slide is a sample of 35 of the 40 activities. For this slide, choose 10 to 20 to write sentences on your own. The sentences should state, “I prefer ___.” Challenge, there are 5 missing images, do you remember which ones they are? Find out after you´ve written your sentences!
My students are able to recall vocabulary after they have reviewed the slideshow between 3 and 4 times. The animated visuals really help!
