I'm a big fan of using small-group games to promote student engagement in my classroom (and, since I teach mostly high schoolers, to make sure that students who finish their work early ALWAYS have something fun and/or constructive to do that DOESN'T involve playing with their cell phones!). Here's one that's seen success with my 7th-10th graders
This is a quick Memory game that works well in student pairs to review and practice French expressions for telling time. This packet includes two different game templates (each with 16 cards), and sample questions range from topics like constructing simple complete sentences (such as, "Il est trois heures") and knowing the meanings of expressions like "et quart, et demie, and moins le quart," to understanding how to tell time using the 24-hour clock.
I'm a firm believer in the benefits of language immersion, so you won't see ANY English words or phrases in these games; you WILL, on the other hand, see lots of French phrases and pictures for this matching game! Happy playing!
