Get your kids prepared for Thanksgiving dinner, by teaching them the proper way to act at the dinner table, how to speak to others, and how to put people at ease!
This curriculum was developed for a Brownie Girl Scout "Design your own badge," but you could probably adapt it for another purpose. It is all about manners: table manners, speaking manners, and hosting/putting people at ease. Upon writing up this curriculum I and my co-leader came across the book, "A Quest for Good Manners". The passport included in this curriculum is based off of that book, as is the anticipatory set to this topic. However, you could use a similar book if need be. The first topic of table manners will be culminated in a skit the students/ scouts must write up and conduct with their fellow scouts/classmates. Included are objectives, which are also criteria to go over with the students/troop members in each section of the "passport", a crossword puzzle to follow the speaking section and a decoding activity to follow the "putting others at ease" section.
