Product Description
How Are Waves Reflected? This Question Exploration examines the Essential Question How Do Waves Reflect From Free and Fixed End Boundaries?

Question Exploration Routines are an instructional method that teachers can use to help a diverse student population understand a body of content information by carefully answering a critical question to arrive at a main idea answer. Students taught using Content Enhancement earned higher total test scores than did students taught using the lecture-discussion method.

Personally, I use the Question Exploration Routine to figure out what I want to say and how I want to say it. I keeps my "Sage on the Stage" time limited to what fits onto 2-3 pages. This product includes the completed question exploration guide, and the student guide blanked except for vocabulary, scaffolding questions, and graphics already filled in. I also included links to online lab simulation. It is in Microsoft Word .doc form so that Ts can customize the discussion to fit the needs of their Ss.

These Content Enhancement Routines are classroom tested to help students with the following Florida Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in Science.
Students will be able to (SWBAT):
• SC.3.P.10.4 Demonstrate that light can be reflected, refracted, and absorbed.
• SC.7.P.10.2 Observe and explain that light can be reflected, refracted, and/or absorbed.
• SC.912.P.10.20 describe the measurable properties of waves and explain the relationships among them and how these properties change when the wave moves from one medium to another.
• SC.912.P.12.2 Analyze the motion of an object in terms of its position, velocity, and acceleration (with respect to a frame of reference) as functions of time.
• SC.912.P.12.9 Recognize that time, length, and energy depend on the frame of reference
