What is the relationship between electrical energy, current, voltage, resistance and power? This question exploration explains Ohm's Law and Joule's Law.

Question Exploration Routines are an instructional method that teachers can use to help a diverse student population understand a body of content information by carefully answering a critical question to arrive at a main idea answer. Students taught using Content Enhancement earned higher total test scores than did students taught using the lecture-discussion method.

Personally, I use the Question Exploration Routine to figure out what I want to say and how I want to say it. I keeps my "Sage on the Stage" time limited to what fits onto 2 pages. This product includes the completed question exploration guide, and the student guide blanked except for vocabulary, scaffolding questions, and graphics already filled in. I also included links to PhET simulation. It is in Microsoft Word .doc form so that you can customize the discussion to fit the needs of your students.

These Question Exploration Routines are classroom tested to help students with the following Florida Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in Science. SWBAT:
SC.912.P.10.1 Differentiate among the various forms of energy and recognize that they can be transformed from one form to others.
SC.912.P.10.8 Explain entropy's role in determining the efficiency of processes that convert energy to work.
SC.912.P.10.15 Investigate and explain the relationships among current, voltage, resistance, and power.
SC.912.P.10.16 Explain the relationship between moving charges and magnetic fields, as well as changing magnetic fields and electric fields, and their application to modern technologies.
