Question words are difficult for English language learners. Trying to keep track of which question word will result in which type of answer can be confusing. As part of our question words lesson series I made this digital mystery picture activity for my students to practice when to use the six main question words (who, what, when, where, why, how). Students read each of the sentences and decide which word correctly completes the sentence. They then type the answer in the gray box. If the answer is correct, part of the picture will appear. When they have correctly completed all 30 sentences the complete picture is revealed. Be sure to delete the answer key before assigning to students!
