271 "Question of the Day" writing prompts are right here for your classes! That's enough questions for over a year and a half of school! Included are a wide range of topics, with many from current events and historical themes. Put there are several too from science, art, language arts, and pop culture! These questions can be used in junior high and high school with almost any class. I've been doing these for years and have picked the best ones from all of my files.
Many writing standards are met with these writing prompts. I only listed a few to this description, covering many age ranges.
The students love "Question of the Day" and is a great activity to do as you take attendance and get your lesson ready during the first 5 minutes of class. These are great to get to know your students better too! There are many other uses for these prompts:
- First 5-10 minutes of class as a writing exercise and discussion piece
- Journaling topics
- Post on Edmodo, Twitter, or Google Drive
- Convert into poll questions
- Put as a last question on a test or quiz
P.S. The "Preview" file has 10 total slides for you to see more Q's!!
