I created this document for my 4th grade class, but it could easily be used for 3rd or 5th too. Every day when my students come in the room, they glance at the question and determine their answer. They grab their name tag and put their name in the "yes" or "no" column for their answer. Their tags have magnets on them so it's super easy to move around. All the questions are simple yes or no questions. I love doing this little activity because it is a quick way for me to take roll, and it gives the kids something quick and fun to get the day started. It's also great for conversations throughout the year as student's find out information about each other.
This file has questions for each month of the school year. There are at least 20 questions for each month, except August and June. School gets out in May where I teach, but I added a similar ending to June for those of you that still teach in June.
All the questions can be used in any order. Each month has a border that corresponds with the time of year, and some questions are relevant to the time of year as well, but all of it can be used at your discretion. There is some color in the borders, but I don't have access to a color printer at my school, so I just printed out each month in black and white, but used different colors of paper for each month.
