This resource is part of an exciting series I am creating for explicitly teaching comprehension skills. The package focusses on QUESTIONING for students in Year 1 and 2, but Year 3/4 could also use the posters independently.
The package focusses on teaching the QUESTIONING Strategy through detailed, explicit learning sequence of lessons for you to use with your class as a whole and in small groups. There are many questioning stems in 3 posters that should also be seen when teaching this comprehension strategy. It has many activities that you will use over and over again, as modelled, guided and independent activities. Included is a printable worksheet, templates for use, 3 explicit color 'THINKING STEM' posters for before, during and after reading a text. The 'I wonder' pages are perfect for introducing this strategy.
The package usesNSW New English Syllabus Outcomes and links to the Australian Curriculum. It also aligns with the USA Common Core Standards.
