This pack has resources for you to use to teach your students about the Questioning Strategy where they learn how to think and ask themselves questions about their text as they read. Teaching posters are included in this pack which explain why this is a beneficial reading strategy as well as providing examples of good questions and answers. There are also a variety of differentiated graphic organizers that you can use based on student ability. The posters are helpful to use when introducing the Questioning Strategy to your students in a whole group setting. The graphic organizers can then be used in literacy centers and guided reading groups to give students the opportunity to show their use of the Questioning Strategy. There are 6 different graphic organizers (3 for their questions and 3 for answers) for students to complete based on their writing abilities. You can use the posters and graphic organizers on a regular basis in your classroom throughout the school year to make sure students are using the Questioning Strategy repeatedly to really think about their reading and improve their comprehension. This pack can easily be used with both fiction and non-fiction stories, which aligns well with the Common Core Standards.
