This is a great whole-class listening and speaking activity designed to keep your class on their toes while they are practicing using “si clauses” with the plus-que-parfait and conditionnel passé!
Simply pass out the cards, and call on any student to read the question on his card. The student with the correct answer then calls it out and asks the question on his card…and players continue to ask and answer questions until the game wraps around the room and ends with the same person who started.
I like to record how long it takes the students to complete it once, and then I shuffle the cards and pass them out again and challenge them to beat their time. The kids love this activity and love the competition! I sometimes pit them against another class and that motivates them more.
You get 30 cards as well as templates for 6 blanks cards should you need to add others. If you have less than 30 students in your class, pass out two cards to some students. It's a great challenge for those higher-level thinkers to have two cards at once. There is also an answer sheet so the teacher can follow along as the students read the questions and answers.
You also get a version without the first half of the si clause, to play with those more advanced students!
The cards are in color, but they would look just as good in black and white. Print on card stock and laminate to use over and over again!
