A Quick Assess is a short, informal assessment related to a math concept or procedure. You can administer a Quick Assess in 5 – 10 minutes as a Warm-Up at the start of class, as an Exit Activity at the end of class, or at any convenient time during class. Using Quick Assess allows you to review previously covered material that may be pre-requisite to understanding new instruction. Use the results of each assessment to determine areas of need and to help you plan future instruction and review.
Quick Assess: Linear Functions includes 10 short assessments of material covered in a typical Algebra I course:
•Identifying and using various forms of linear functions (slope-intercept, point-slope, standard)
•Graphing linear functions
•Finding the slope and intercepts of linear functions both graphically and algebraically
•Writing equations of linear functions
•Using linear functions in real-world contexts
Most of the assessments require only a half-sheet of paper and are formatted two per page to save paper. Answer keys are included.
