It's that time of year!! What a fun and wacky American holiday Groundhog Day is!

This simple but fun game is designed for your short articulation or fluency sessions (5-10 minutes) although it can also be used for longer sessions, too. In fact, it can be used for any skill that students need a little motivation to complete!

Just set a timer and begin drilling any skill (completing math facts, reading sight words, answering questions, saying articulation targets, using fluency strategies, etc. After your student says completes the given task to your liking (3 times, 5 times, etc) allow him/her to pick a card. If it’s a GROUNDHOG DAY card he/she gets to keep it. If it’s one of the wild cards, follow the directions on the card. When the timer rings, the child with the most GROUNDHOG DAY cards wins!

As an alternate way to play (that incorporates spontaneous connected speech), challenge students to describe or make a sentence about the card they pick while using their best speech.

* 25 colorful GROUNDHOG DAY themed cards and 5 wild cards

Just print, cut, & play (laminate for durability). No wasted paper

Have fun!
