Description

Arrr, matey!! Celebrate "talk like a pirate" day or use this fun game year round for fun and some serious drill in your speech room!

This simple but fun game is designed for your short articulation or fluency sessions (5-10 minutes) although it can also be used for longer sessions, too! I use it for 30 minutes sessions!

Just set a timer and begin drill. After your student says her articulation targets or uses fluency strategies to your liking (3 times, 5 times, etc) allow him/her to pick a card. If it’s a ARRR, MATEY card, he/she gets to keep it. If it’s one of the wild cards, follow the directions on the card. When the timer rings, the child with the most ARRR, MATEY cards wins! This game can also be used for math fact drill, sight words drill, etc.

As an alternate way to play (that incorporates spontaneous connected speech), challenge students to describe or make a sentence about the pirate they picked while using their best speech.

Includes"

* 25 colorful ARRR, MATEY pirate cards and 5 wild cards

* A list of words and phrases so that your students can TALK LIKE A PIRATE - sorted for target phonemes!

Drilling while talking like a pirate is just wayyyyyy more motivating! I hope your little lads and lassies love it!

Just print, cut, & play (laminate for durability). No wasted paper

Have fun!
