Who can resist these happy little trains? Quick drill games are simple but addictive! They're a great way to pack loads of drill into your therapy sessions.
This game is perfect for your short articulation or fluency sessions (5-10 minutes) although it can also be used for longer sessions, too.
Just set a timer and begin drill. After your student says his/her articulation targets or uses fluency strategies to your liking (3 times, 5 times, etc) allow him/her to pick a card. If it’s an ALL ABOARD CARD, he/she gets to keep it. If it’s one of the wild cards, follow the directions on the card. When the timer rings, the person with the most cards wins! *** Also includes a second version that has CHOO CHOO CARDS for your little train lovers! Also perfect for working on "ch."
For another way to play, have students say “all aboard” or "choo choo" when each card is turned over or make a sentence about the trains. Challenge them to make the best sentences they can think of while using their best speech.
